Nelson Policies at Lloyd’s supports Movember to raise awareness of men’s health issues
Nelson Policies at Lloyd’s are proudly supporting Movember 2018, to help raise awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Several of our members of staff are poised to trim their beards and grow a manly moustache – aka ‘Mo – that Tom Selleck would be proud of! That will explain the awkward upper lip hair that’s started sprouting around the office!
The Movember charity was set up in Australia in 2003 and quickly spiralled into a global event, with people around the world becoming involved in the month of fundraising for men’s health projects. A vast community of ‘Mo Bros’ and ‘Mo Sistas’ grow moustaches throughout November to raise vital funds for the Movember Foundation, the world’s leading charity aimed at changing the face of men’s health.
During the last 15 years the Movember Foundation has funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world. By 2030, the charity aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
Naturally, the forthcoming month of male grooming will be a busy few weeks for hairdressers, barbers and grooming salons across the UK, which will be taking care of the Mo requirements of Mo Bros and Sistas.
As well as a number of our staff getting involved in moustache-growing efforts, Nelson Policies at Lloyd’s is proud to be a package insurer that delivers exceptionally good terms and products designed for the bespoke needs of barbers, hairdressers and male grooming shops throughout Britain.
It’s not too late to get your team involved in Movember 2018 and help men around the world fight prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health issues and support suicide prevention. Visit the Movember website for more information on this fantastic men’s health charity.
Meanwhile, if you have clients who are a hairdresser, barber or grooming salon and you’d like to know more about our commercial insurance products, please get in touch with our Senior Combined Underwriter Nick Williams by calling 01622 681 243.
